Dennis Donald has worked in the private, nonprofit, education and public sectors. He has worked for private consulting firms; directed and held high-level positions in nonprofit organizations; managed a university center focusing on training, research and facilitation for state and local government; and served in management and policy positions in state government.
Dennis formed The Osprey Group with long-time friend and colleague, John Huyler, in 2000. Prior to this, he was a senior facilitator and director of The Keystone Center’s Science and Public Policy Program. From 1991 to 1996, Dennis served as the regional director for The Nature Conservancy’s Western Region. He served as the deputy director for the Colorado Department of Natural Resources from 1986 to 1991. He directed the University of Colorado’s Center for the Improvement of Public Management in the mid-80s. From 1970 to 1984, he was involved in economic research, initially with BBC Research and Consulting and later as president of the Boulder Research Group.
Academically, Dennis has a Ph.D. in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines. He also has a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado. Dennis earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Denver.
