steve-clarkSteve Clark is President of the Portland Tribune newspaper and President and Publisher of Community Newspapers, a group of 17 weekly and monthly and community newspapers published in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties.

Steve is active in local, regional and state economic development, education funding, transportation and land use issues. He chairs Oregon Governor Kulongoski’s Transportation Governance Subcommittee, which is looking to improve the state’s transportation system, including how it is funded, operates and impacts the environment. He is a member of the Oregon (“Big Look”) Task Force on Land Use Planning, which is looking to recommend changes in Oregon’s 30-year-old land use system. As a board member of the Westside Economic Alliance, he led the development of an economic strategy for Portland area’s Westside. He is co-chair of the Oregon Business Council’s efforts to expand the availability of land in Oregon for jobs. He is a member of the steering committee that has developed a Portland regional economic development strategy and chairs that effort’s land use committee.

Steve and his wife, Randy, have two sons. Both are active in their community assisting efforts to improve educational funding and quality.
