Bob McNamaraBob McNamara is a Senior Policy Representative for the National Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs unit in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for state and local taxation, transportation, infrastructure finance, and Smart Growth programs and policy. He provides direction and support to REALTOR® working groups launching new policy initiatives in areas such as transportation, public education, and community and economic development.

Prior to joining the staff of the REALTORS®, Mr. McNamara worked for the National Association of Home Builders, where he helped produce the first Smart Growth principles to be promulgated by a national organization.

Mr. McNamara is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and holds a Master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Virginia. He has worked as a planner for local governments in Virginia and Maryland, for the state of Maryland, and for the federal government as a Foreign Service Officer. He is a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners.
